thin ears is the collaborative solo project of Jon Gonnelli, a musician living in Jersey City, NJ.

thin ears recording process begins with a stripped down song idea written by Gonnelli. Once a live arrangement & feel have been established, it is then up to a core group of Silent Stereo Records All-Stars to capture the moment. During the process any performer can vie to produce & arrange their own parts. Extensive critique, debate & discussion occur wherein the merits of a part being a joy to play are weighed against it serving the song. Longtime collaborator, Justin Angelo Morey currently leads the group in wins for producing & arranging details. Engineering, recording & mixing are handled exclusively by Silent Stereo Records founder, Dennis Pierce.

thin ears is a rough translation of a Korean expression 귀가 얇다 meaning to be easily influenced by what others say which suits the general vibe of the creative process employed by the group.
